Grandma’s Kingdom Cookies

Have the grandkids look up the Bible verses as you mix up the recipe. I have been using this recipe for over 30 years.

• 3/4 cup Psalm 63:5
• 1 cup Jeremiah 6:20
• 2 eggs Isaiah 10:14
• 1/2 teaspoon Luke 11:42
• 2 1/2 cups II Samuel 13:8
• 1 teaspoon Galatians 5:9
• (Follow Numbers 11:8)

Ingredients

• 3/4 cup shortening
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla or lemon extract
• 2 1/2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon salt

I always double this recipe…the dough will keep a couple of days in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Directions

1. Mix thoroughly, cover and chill dough 1 hour.
2. Roll out dough and cut into shapes.
3. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes or until lightly golden.
5. Let cool and ice.
