Tucked into the lakefront Waterpoint Shopping Center on 105 in Montgomery, Planet Beach Spray and Spa is the perfect little getaway when you need a break from everyday life. This jewel of a spa has so many services to choose from and expert staff members that will help create a personal wellness and beauty regime just for you. The spa has been open for six years, but recently changed ownership. Kristin Stash and her husband Johnny bought the spa last November. Since then, Kristin has been hard at work turning it into an enticing retreat to relax and rejuvenate, making the stress just melt away.

Tell a little about yourself.

I was born and raised in Montgomery County. I am the former franchise owner of Coffee News; my territory was Montgomery, Willis, New Waverly and Huntsville. I traveled a lot and even lived overseas for a while in Oman with my late husband Sam and our three girls. When Sam passed away in 2013, I moved back home to Texas. I met Johnny, and we married in 2016. Together, we have five children ranging in age from 6 to 17.

Tell us about the Planet Beach franchise.

Planet Beach Spray and Spa is the world’s largest automated franchise with 22 years of proven success—strong brand awareness that is both regional and nationwide. They provide on-going training, technical assistance, and marketing support for their franchisees to ensure the customer gets the best, most up-to-date services available.

How has the business changed since you bought it?

We have updated some of our services, and we are very excited about our newest service, Cocoon Wellness Propod, arriving in May. We are carrying a larger variety of products to choose from, including nutritional supplements. I’m very excited about our new customized memberships to fit everyone’s personal health and wellness goals. Our certified spa consultants will work with you to develop a regime that addresses anti-aging, weight loss, detoxification, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Our newest ventures are after-hours spa parties and bridal packages.

Tell more about the services available at the spa.

We have so many different services to choose from to create a customized wellness regime for each customer.

Do you have a membership program or any specials?

We offer a variety of memberships that we can customize to meet your health and wellness needs, including UV therapy and online scheduling. We also have discounts for MISD employees, Prom Specials, Mother’s Day Specials, and more. Come by for a visit or call for more information.

We have monthly specials as well as member appreciation parties on the last Thursday of every month. Those are so much fun! We have drinks, appetizers, price reductions on products, and a raffle for a gift basket. A good way to find out the current specials is to follow us on Facebook.

Tell us about your staff.

Our Spa Director is Lauren Pasket. She is the glue that holds us together and the backbone of our spa. She has been at Planet Beach for six years and in the beauty, health, and wellness industry for 14 years.

Karis Duncan is not only an employee, but a walking testimony. She is a true example that Hotworx can rejuvenate mind, body and spirit, enabling her to see astonishing results with our program. Stop by and chat with her; her body transformation is amazing!

Barbara Poppenhusen is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She is a hard-working staff member with many years of experience that she would love to share with you. Come by and ask her for a tour of the spa.

Lauren Stash is our newest team member. She has greatly excelled to become our Mystic Spray Tan guru. Prom is quickly approaching, so make sure to get her expert opinion.
